My Favourite field trip

When I was in sixth semester of my career I had the opportunity to take elective Glaciology with Professor Francisco Ferrando, the course was boring but the field trip was wonderful. The field trip started on December 8 in 2010, we went to Paso Aguas Negras in the fourth region near the border with Argentina in search of two rock glaciers: “El Tapado” and the “Llano de las Liebres” that were more than 4000 meters above sea level. We set up in a base camp and from there we had to go up the two days we were in search of glaciers. The first day I was sick, and the morning of 9 December we had to go in search of the “Llano de las Liebres”, was very tiring but we reached the top. The second day we went to Glacier “El Tapado” reached 4800 meters above sea level; the landscape was really beautiful and was a unique experience. Although of the cold and the sick of height, the field trip has been the best of my career because I had the opportunity to see a glacier that are now in danger of disappearing.
